Marion never married. He lived withhis brother-in-law, Frank Collins and worked around the lumber company before coming to Flatwoods, Kentucky to live. Years before, he had lived alone and "shantied".
In the latter years of his life, he moved in with his brother, Kelley, and was cared for by his niece, Martha, until he died.
